No need a license to use your Fanatec hardware ALONE with SLIMax Manager Pro.
A license is obviously needed if you add to your rig as a second screen like an USB Display device (SLI-PRO, SIM Race F1, etc) or the Android/Windows Virtual Racing Display Emulator VDASH-EMU (check the website old gen. EMU SIMRF1-EMU is also available for FREE!!! ).
THE BASIC STEPS:
– download and install the latest SLIMax Manager Pro ( don’t forget to check for update to keep your install up to date)
– run the manager
– run the sim or game
It is recommended to follow the basic steps above, use the default Fanatec setup, enjoy with your sim rig and with your favorite game or simulation (SLIMax Manager Pro supports more than 60 game/simulation) and later start to customize your setup to suit your needs.
QUICK INFO AND TIPS:
The Basic Options:
Select the Basic Setup Options to change the unit (MPH/KPH), change the Pit limiter, Shiftlights or Shiftpoints method.
More info on Basic Options settings are available in User Guide, HERE
Advanced Setup Options:
Check the video tutorials, doc and F.A.Q. to go further and learn how to customize your setup to suit your needs.
Among hundred of functions for customizing your setup, here are the functions specific to Fanatec hardware.
-> surround the gear value with the chosen chars on OSP (Optimal ShiftPoints ) to use with a special OSP method (named FanaFoo 😉 )
Gear Shock Effect
-> Active the base wheel motors on shifting
-> Active the CSP v3 throttle rumble motor under specific condition
-> Active the CSP v2/v3 brake rumble motor when ABS is active
*see below the notes related to throttle/abs effect
Using Fanatec 7 way encoder switch
The 7 way rotary encoder:
The 7 way rotary encoder on the right of almost all Fanatec rim is configured by default to change the function of the 3 digits display (gear, speed, fuel, etc.)
In advanced options you can activate the Wheel Angle Database to let SLIMax Manager Pro changes your degree of rotation of your wheel (wheel angle) automatically. More info on Wheel Angle are available, HERE.
CSP PEDALS SET:
To take the full benefit of the SLIMax Manager Pro management of your CSP Rumble Motors (Brake and Throttle), connect your CSP directly to PC USB port (recommended) or on wheel base.
Attention: you can’t use the Pedals Set alone with SLIMax Manager Pro, you need at least ONE display device like the Fanatec CSW Base Wheel or any other supported devices display (Fanatec CSW, CSL, Porsche, Logitech G27, G29, SIM Race LCD, SIM Race GT, SIM Race F1, SIM Race Deluxe, SIM Race PRO, Steelseries SRW-S1, SLI-F1, SLI-M, SLI-PRO) or the VDASH-EMU Emulator for Android, Windows or Linux.
In advanced options activate the ABS or/and Throttle effect*
When CSP is connected to the Base wheel:
When it is connected to USB Port as a standalone Pedals Set
Notes: SLIMax Manager Pro version prior to 22.214.171.124 have a potential bug which prevent to use the ABS Effect with your CSP if more than ONE controller is connected (the second controller can potentially reset to zero the ABS effect). The simple workaround is to activate the ABS Effect on ALL CONTROLLERS settings and not just on CSP Controller settings.
Read the FAQ for more info: Why the ABS Effect not working with my Fanatec CSP?
Activate the Analog Joystick (axe 4) as a temporary switch
THE RIM REV LED OF P1:
CSL base and P1 rim are fully supported. You can use the P1 RIM Rev Led in standard mode (by default) to get shiftlights feedback or set a general option to switch to “FLAG MODE” using Yellow, Blue and Red color to warn you when FIA FLAG‘s or Engine Warning or Low Fuel is set…
IMPORTANT: be sure to have the latest SLIMax Manager Pro version 126.96.36.199 or greater, The Fanatec v289+ beta driver installed on base v2/v2.5 and latest CSL driver before activating this feature. However, this is a beta driver it’s always better to wait until the release of the final version of the Fanatec driver to activate the option.
if the BIG RIM Led of P1 is allowed in General Options then this acts like 3 warning LEDs (blue, yellow and red):
The corresponding index of each led are:
index 1 for blue
index 2 for Yellow
index 3 for Red
In this example below the index 2 (yellow color) is checked to lit up on low fuel warning
Fanatec Teensy LC Mod:
Our display devices and emulators manager SLIMax Manager Pro works really well with Fanatec Teensy mod and it is great to be able to use your Fanatec rim “as is” with the QR adapter provided by the OSW Kit from SimRacingBay for example.
The primary software support information is in on the getting started page (include video tutorials), see the link below:
