ATTENTION: to go further in this tutorial the RING PACK and ARROW PACK in addition to the CIRCULAR GAUGE PACK must be installed

1- Go to EDIT MODE and select a blank page

2- We start by the background of the RPM Gauge, we are going to use a circular gauge object for the background to be able to control the visible area of the background. Select menu Circular Gauge and choose the led_bkgnd.png in the circular_gauges_pack

3- click the new object (on the left) and bring it at the center, open the properties and enter the settings like the screenshot (control points and rotation could be almost like my screenshot) The goal here is just to have an half circle on the left

TIP: the 1.0 value in the EVAL FIELD is to always get the value at 100% it forces to draw the visible part of circular gauge object entirely (remember here we use it as a background)

4- Select the Circular Gauge menu again and choose the led_blue.png in circular_gauges_pack

5- bring the new object at the center and open the properties

set the telemetry field to Engine RPM
Max Field to Max Enginge RPM
Force Max value to 0
alpha at 100%
untick Reverse

6- get the same visible area as the previous object
TIP: play with the transparency (alpha slider), move object, zoom, etc. until both circular objects match

7- save the page and enter the track on your favorite simulation game to see your cool Circular Gauge in action

In the following part of the tutorial we are going to finalize our tachometer

8- create the other objects

an image Object with ring1.png from Ring Texture Pack
a RPM text label,
a Rounded Group with no title (edit the title and remove it)
a DATA RPM object (choose a digital font),

Place all objects like the screenshot (almost) and set the color of objects

9- now create a RPM Arrow Gauge Object, resize the arrow and place it at the center of the ring

10- VERY IMPORTANT exit the track BEFORE setting the limit of the RPM Arrow gauge. Edit properties and set the start and end position of the arrow

11- then enter the track again and edit the properties of the arrow gauge to set the STEP value. the arrow must match the blue light of circular gauge
DO NOT TOUCH THE START AND END properties when you are on track

Congrats! you just created a very cool RPM Gauge!
Cheers,
z
